Introduction:There are so many reasons you should get your child involved in the kitchen as early as possible. And as we start our new lesson, “My Family,” we want our students to be more familiar with different scenarios in their homes, especially in preparing food. And this cupcake decorating activity will give them more opportunities to practice lots of fine motor skills.


前言:有太多的理由我们应该让孩子尽可能早的接触到厨房。正是我们的课程开始进入到我的家庭这个新的单元,我们希望我们的孩子能够更加熟悉家庭的各个环节,特别是准备美食方面。本次活动能够帮助孩子们有更多的机会增加孩子的各个技能。

Real-Life ScenarioFrom riding a car to getting dressed, our students learn how much they can do all by themselves. So, why not let them experience a few cooking-related activities that they can do independently or with just a little help from their teachers. Simple tasks like squeezing whipped cream into the cupcake, sprinkling chocolate flakes, or putting the fresh fruits on top of the icing are a good fit for most of them.


现实生活的场景:从学会骑车到穿衣,我们的学生慢慢认识到他们自己可以做多少事情。那么,为什么不让孩子们体验一些与烹饪相关的活动,让他们能够独立或者在老师小小的帮助下尽量独立完成。我们设定一下简单的任务,例如把奶油挤进纸杯蛋糕上,撒巧克力碎屑,或者把新鲜的水果放在上面装饰,这些正适合现在的孩子去动手做。

As kids grow, they will develop the skills, attention span, and interest to do more significant responsibilities while enjoying learning with us adults. Exposure and experiencing this activity with our students can foster an interest in food and cooking that will last for life!  

随着孩子们的成长,孩子们会在与我们成年人一起的学习当中来发展孩子的技能、注意力跨度和兴趣从而在享受的同时承担更重要的责任。在我们与孩子一起接触和体验活动时,可以培养大家对食物和烹饪的兴趣,而这将持续一生!

AimThis project aims at three leanings: 1) To practice our students’ creativity by allowing them to decorate their products. 2) To let them understand the responsibility of preparing their food and help them understand the importance of good hygiene. 3) To practice their negotiating and entrepreneurial skills by letting them talk with the buyers of their products.


课程目标:这个项目有三个目的:1)通过让我们的学生装饰他们的产品来实践他们的创造力。2)让他们了解准备食物的责任,并帮助他们了解到良好卫生的重要性。3)通过让他们与他们产品的买家交谈来练习他们的谈判和创业技巧。

ProcedureThe students will watch the demo of cupcake decorating done by Foreign Teacher Jay. Students would be able to identify all the ingredients and toppings to be used for this activity. With their creativity, students would create their flavors using the available ingredients: blueberries, strawberries, lemon, and chocolate flakes. After the presentation, students would be able to decorate their cupcakes with the guidance of their teachers. And for the last part, students would be able to sell their decorated cupcakes for 1 yuan each and make money from their crafts.


过程:在课堂上学生们会先观看外教Jay老师演示如何装饰纸杯蛋糕。学生们会有机会认识在活动中的所有成分和配料。然后,凭借他们的创造力,学生们可以用现有的成分来创造他们的口味:蓝莓、草莓、柠檬和巧克力片。演讲结束后,学生们可以在老师的指导下装饰他们的纸杯蛋糕。最后学生们可1元的价格出售装饰好的纸杯蛋糕,从他们的作品中赚到第一桶金。

Dawn: “I learned how to put on gloves.”

Dawn我学习了如何带手套。


Hannah: “I learned how to put the icing on my cupcake.”

Hannah我学会了怎样把奶油挤在蛋糕上。


Tommy: “I learned how to make money.”

Tommy我学会了怎么赚钱。


Mark: “I learned how to bargain. At first, I sold my cupcakes for 100 yuan, but nobody wanted to buy them, then I sold them for 50 yuan, but still, nobody wanted to buy them, then I sold them for 1 yuan, and finally they bought them.”

Mark我学会了怎么砍价。一开始我卖100元,没有人想买,后来我卖50元,还是没有人来买,最后,我卖1元,终于有人买我的蛋糕了。


Manda: “I will use my money to add up on my savings to buy a house for my grandparents.”

Manda我会把挣到的钱存入我的小金库,用来给我姥爷买房子。


Wendy: “I will buy a flower for my mother.”

Wendy我会用挣来的钱给妈妈买花。


Hannah: “I will buy flowers for my mother too.”

Hannah我也想用挣来的钱买花给妈妈。


Claire: “I will buy new toys.”

Claire我会用挣来的钱买新的洋娃娃。


Angel: “I want to buy a new cellphone and transfer my mother’s money on it.”

Angel我想用挣来的钱买个我的手机,然后把妈妈手机上的钱都转到我这里。


Boys: “We will buy new toys.”

男孩子们:我们想买新玩具。
